Within the first few days of living in Tateyama, Sam and I were clear on one thing; we really needed some wheels. I had brought my rolling computer bag and Sam had threatened that he would use it when we went to buy rice so he wouldn’t have had to lug around 20 lbs. of rice for a kilometer. I declined, stating we needed a bag like little grannies have all over the world. We needed a rolling grocery bag. We trekked over to our local Aeon (a super huge store) and, after some looking, found the section with roll-y bags. There were some high-end ¥8,000 ($80) ones, but we weren’t ready to drop that sort of cash. We found one for about ¥2,000 ($20) and were off.
That day changed everything… I love our roll-y bag so much! We use it often, though I usually lug it around since Sam complains it is too short. Not only does it make grocery shopping easy, let alone possible, but it also allowed for a very important purchase, which we are currently still setting up! (It’s a microwave oven!)
