Ueno Park

While heading to the museum, we took a walk through the park. There were a number of shrines and temples but we wanted to make sure we had enough time in the museum. We did take a couple of pictures on the way. The first is of a memorial dedicated to some soldiers that died fighting a battle in the area where the park is now.IMG_0171This is a picture of the front of the Japanese National Museum.IMG_0172Of course, we stopped to have a snack. There was a man selling roasted sweet potatoes from his truck se we decided to get one before going in to the museum. It was quite good.IMG_0174Upon reaching the front of the museum there was a man outside doing some kind of teapot-balancing performance. He did all kinds of balancing tricks including flipping the pot up in the air and catching it on a stick.IMG_0176

If Sam drove a car, his license plate holder would have to read: WARNING – this car stops for all sweet potatoes!

Ha, Deb! 🙂 One of my favorite snacks were the sweet potatoes that my Korean ladies/student’s would share with me as a treat after teaching. Mmm.. so delicious especially on a cold day. 🙂 Yum!
