The Tokyo Game Show (TGS) is an annual video game convention in held in Tokyo (technically in Chiba, which is a suburb of Tokyo). It attracts over 250,000 (even more than San Diego Comic-con) people and is held in such an enormous convention hall that it doesn’t even feel that crowded.
It’s jam-packed with booths selling merchandise, demoing games, and holding performances and press conferences. Admission was only about $10, so we didn’t really feel pressured to get our money’s worth and just ended up wandering around, playing a few games, and seeing some interesting things.
There was also a ton of cosplay (people dressed as fictional characters), including some that seemed to be professionals officially sponsored by various video game companies.
We also saw a man using virtual reality to try and look up a digital girl’s skirt. You know, typical nerd stuff.
